Job Description
Job Purpose:
To ensure uninterrupted operation of plant machinery and utilities through effective preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance, while maintaining safety, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Preventive & Breakdown Maintenance
o Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules for all machines and equipment.
o Attend breakdowns promptly and ensure minimum machine downtime.
o Identify recurring issues and implement permanent corrective actions.
2. Machine & Equipment Management
o Maintain and monitor performance of production machines, utilities, and support systems (compressors, DG sets, chillers, etc.).
o Maintain equipment history cards and maintenance records.
o Coordinate with suppliers or service providers for major repairs or AMC services.
3. Spare Parts & Inventory Control
o Plan and maintain stock of critical spares and consumables.
o Monitor spare usage and control maintenance costs.
o Coordinate with the store/purchase department for timely availability of parts.
4. Electrical & Mechanical Systems
o Handle troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
o Monitor parameters such as voltage, current, temperature, and pressure for critical machines.
o Ensure safety of electrical panels, motors, and circuits.
5. Documentation & Compliance
o Maintain maintenance logs, checklists, and inspection reports.
o Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance reports.
o Support ISO/IATF/TPM documentation and audits.
6. Safety & Housekeeping
o Ensure adherence to safety procedures during maintenance work.
o Conduct safety audits and implement corrective actions.
o Maintain clean and organized maintenance areas.
7. Continuous Improvement
o Work on energy-saving, cost-reduction, and reliability-improvement projects.
o Implement Kaizen, TPM, and 5S practices within the department.
o Suggest modifications in machines for better performance or ease of maintenance.
8. Team & Coordination
o Supervise maintenance technicians and contractors.
o Coordinate with production and quality departments for maintenance planning.
o Provide training to operators on basic machine care and daily checks.
Skills & Competencies:
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
Experience in CNC / VMC / press machines / utility equipment
Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, and P&ID
Proficiency in MS Office / ERP / Maintenance software
Knowledge of 5S, TPM, Kaizen, and Safety Standards
Good communication, leadership, and analytical skills
Qualification & Experience:
Diploma / B.E. in Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Industrial Engineering
38 years of experience in maintenance (preferably in manufacturing / automotive / engineering industry)
