Responsibilities
Design & Development
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components for rolling stock( Interior and Sanitary )
- Prepare and review 3D CAD models, 2D drawings, and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Ensure compliance with railway standards such as RDSO, EN, and UIC.
Project Management
- Support project execution from concept to commissioning.
- Coordinate with suppliers, manufacturing, and quality teams to ensure design feasibility.
- Monitor project schedules, deliverables, and documentation.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare technical documentation such as design reports, test plans, and inspection checklists.
- Maintain configuration management and revision control of design files.
Qualifications
B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
Technical Skills
Essential skills
- Proficiency in CAD software ( SolidWorks, Creo, NX, or AutoCAD).
- Knowledge of FEA tools (ANSYS, HyperMesh) preferred.
- Understanding of railway mechanical systems and standards.
- Familiarity with material selection, manufacturing processes, and GD&T.
Soft Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Project coordination and vendor management experience.
Experience
810 years in railway / rolling stock / heavy engineering industry.
