Job Description

Job Title: Team Lead – Advanced Driveline Testing Lab

Role :

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Team Lead to oversee Mechanical Testing Lab and he will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and technicians in conducting a variety of mechanical tests, including strength, wear, NVH, and reliability testing. The Team Lead will ensure that all testing procedures are carried out accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and mentor the Validation team, ensuring high performance and adherence to deadlines
  • Review and approve Virtual Test Plan (VTP) and Reports generated by test engineers for accuracy and compliance
  • Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in mechanical testing methodologies
  • Oversee calibration, maintenance, and proper functioning of testing equipment's
  • Coordinate with Manufacturing & Application teams to align on testing requirements and project timelines
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and industry standards in all validation processes
  • Resource and Inventory Management: Oversee the management of lab resources, including budgeting, procurement, and maintaining optimal inventory levels to support testing operations
  • Provide Training to team to enhance skills and capabilities
  • Continuously improve testing processes and equipment utilization to increase operational efficiency
  • Plan shift schedules and manage workload to meet project deadlines
  • Maintain lab organization and cleanliness by implementing 5S principles
  • Ensure compliance with TS16949 and ISO/IEC 17025 standards
  • Dashboard Management
  • Adherence to Data and workload management tool requirement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • 9-12 years in a testing or validation role within automotive, aerospace, or related industries.
  • Hands-on experience in leading a team.
  • Having a Valid US Visa is an added advantage

Technical Skills:

  • In-Depth Knowledge on mechanical testing methods like Noice Vibration Harshness (NVH), fatigue testing, and wear analysis, impact analysis, thermal analysis or similar
  • Experience in validating test setups, interpreting test results, and ensuring accuracy and reliability of testing procedures
  • Ability to analyze mechanical test data, identify trends, and derive meaningful conclusions to make decisions or provide insights
  • Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., ISO/IEC 17025, TS16949) and regulatory requirements in mechanical testing and validation
  • Understanding of materials and their mechanical properties for accurate testing and analysis

Leadership and Management Skills:

  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop a diverse team of engineers and technicians to drive performance.
  • Experience in planning, executing, and monitoring multiple testing projects, ensuring resources are allocated effectively, and deadlines are met.
  • Efficient management of inventory for lab, equipment, and consumables.
  • Plan and manage lab staff schedules, ensuring proper coverage and efficient use of time and resources.
  • Ability to review and approve detailed test reports and maintain thorough records of testing procedures, results, and compliance with standards.
  • Communicate effectively with other cross functional teams to ensure alignment on project goals, requirements, and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of Lean or 5S principles to manage lab operations effectively, reduce waste, and improve lab organization and cleanliness
  • Knowledge on Root cause analysis and implementing mitigation strategy
