Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai for a Mechanical Fitter in steel recycling unit. The candidate will be responsible for assembling, installing, and maintaining machinery and equipment. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting preventive and routine maintenance, troubleshooting issues with machinery, and ensuring optimal operation of equipment. The role requires adherence to safety standards and collaboration with the maintenance team to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Machining and Fitting practices for various industrial applications
• Minimum 4 years of Experience in Preventive Maintenance and general Maintenance of machinery and equipment
• Knowledge of operating and repairing Machinery in an industrial setting
• Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to diagnose and repair technical issues
• Good understanding of safety practices and regulations during equipment handling and operation
• Certificate or ITI in Mechanical Engineering, Fitting, or a related trade
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is preferred
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team
