The opportunity
Hitachi Energy is currently looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer for the Power Transformers of Business to join their team in Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India. This team seeks a skilled and motivated individual.
Transformers BU team leverages innovative and diverse technology to transform energy, delivering social, environmental, and economic value and enabling a sustainable energy future for current and future generations. The business's comprehensive portfolio includes power transformers, traction transformers, insulation and components, digital sensors, and transformer services.
How you'll make an impact
The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in Power Transformer 400 kV Class design covering different countries.
Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE standards.
Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.
Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics
Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.
Participation in internal design concept reviews.
Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.
Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Your background
B.E / B. Tech Mechanical / Electrical Engineering.
4-8 working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.
Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.
Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.
Should have good understanding of IEEE Standards & Canadian Standards
Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage
Experience in Simulation or software development would be advantageous.
Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.
Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
