Mechanical Engineer (AI Systems Evaluation)
About the Role
Our organization is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineers to collaborate with a leading AI research team. In this role, you will help design, analyze, and evaluate AI systems trained to perform real-world mechanical engineering tasks. Your expertise will directly shape how artificial intelligence understands and solves engineering problems.
This is a remote, hourly contract position ideal for engineers interested in the intersection of mechanical design, applied problem-solving, and AI innovation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and review complex mechanical engineering problems, designs, and case studies.
- Evaluate AI-generated engineering solutions for conceptual accuracy, technical rigor, and domain relevance.
- Provide detailed written feedback to guide iterative model improvement.
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and data engineers to refine workflows and ensure precision.
- Maintain technical accuracy and academic integrity in all deliverables used for AI training and evaluation.
Qualifications / Skills Required
- Bachelor's or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering (or closely related field).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
- Meticulous attention to detail and high standards of technical precision.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in academic or industrial R&D, particularly involving simulations or computational modeling.
- Familiarity with AI tools, data annotation, or ML model evaluation (not mandatory).
- Prior exposure to remote or asynchronous collaboration environments.
Work Location
Remote (Global) fully online and asynchronous.
Salary Range
$65$80 USD per hour (based on experience).
