Investigate production equipment solutions and develop new or modify existing equipment designs
Create and maintain engineering drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and design documentation
Design, develop and implement mechanical equipment and tools, layouts and simulation models
Develop and maintain standards within the virtual area
Coordinate with manufacturing, production, quality and ergonomics team for tool development activities and input collection.
Contact with suppliers on digital model issues, manufacturability of tools and other requirements collection and align with the same.
Authorities
Escalate problems to team leaders and project managers
Plans and performs own tasks
Follow up and control work performed by suppliers
Requirements
Work Experience
Education and experience
Diploma with Tool Design / B.Tech in Mechanical Engg.
8+ years of Tool design experience from the manufacturing industry.
Work exposure in BIW is an advantage.
Good knowledge and In-depth understanding of manufacturing processes such as machining, sheet metal, welding, Drilling & Lean Manufacturing Principles.
Good knowledge of Manufacturing and Assembly Process.
Good understanding of Engineering Drawing reading, Drawing and detailing standards.
Good knowledge and skills in digital tools (CATIA/3DX/Process Simulate) in the Virtual area.
Hands-on experience in at least one PLM software (Windchill Preferred)
