Job Description

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with strong refinery experience to support assigned assets by providing technical expertise and engineering solutions.

In this role, you will act as the primary point of contact for mechanical integrity and reliability, troubleshooting equipment issues and designing repair solutions in line with industry standards. You will collaborate closely with maintenance, operations, and cross-functional engineering teams to ensure safe and reliable refinery operations.

What you will deliver

  • Design permanent and temporary repair solutions for refinery equipment (piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, etc.) in line with industry codes
  • Apply knowledge of corrosion mechanisms and failure modes to ensure reliable designs
  • Use reliability principles for repair and maintenance decisions
  • Deliver key engineering outputs including:

Piping and pressure vessel design

Fitness-for-service assessment

Field troubleshooting support for maintenance and operation

Ensure process and personal safety compliance, including Management of Change (MOC)

Support maintenance teams with preventive maintenance planning and spares strategy

Monitor equipment health and overall unit performance

Provide mechanical engineering input during shutdowns, outages, and turnaround activities

Uphold and actively promote a strong safety culture

What you will need to be successful

Education

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering

Must-have experience / skills

  • Mandatory: Prior hands-on experience working in a refinery environment (Unit Mechanical Engineer / similar role
  • Strong understanding of refinery equipment: piping, vessels, distillation columns, pumps, heat exchangers, furnaces, valves
  • Practical application of ASME & API codes and standards including:
  • ASME B31.3, ASME Section VIII, PCC-1/PCC-2
  • API 570, API 571, API 510, API 579, NBIC
  • Experience in recommending inspection techniques (RT, UT, PT, MT, etc)
  • Knowledge of metallurgy and welding processes
  • Experience in Management of Change (MOC)
  • Exposure to SAP systems
