Role Description

We are looking for a passionate and technically sound R&D Design Engineer to join our core Engineering team in Bangalore. You will be responsible for conceptualizing and designing the next generation of Rotary Friction Welders (RFW), Friction Stir Welding (FSW) machines, and complex Special Purpose Machines (SPMs). This role requires a blend of creative problem-solving and rigorous engineering analysis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Machine Design: Conceptualize and design systems/sub-systems for Rotary Friction Welding (RFW), Friction Stir Welding (FSW), and Test Rigs.
  • Material R&D: Conduct research, analyze technical papers and international standards on joining dissimilar material combinations
  • Technical Analysis: Use Design of Experiments (DoE) and statistical tools to analyze and optimize weld quality.

Skills

  • Core Design: In-depth understanding of mechanical design fundamentals and GD&T.
  • R&D Mindset: Strong technical aptitude for experimental research and root-cause analysis.
  • Tool Proficiency: Hands-on experience with CAD/CAE tools and awareness of simulation software.
  • Process Knowledge: Added Advantage: Working knowledge of RFW or FSW processes and parameter control.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to perform complex engineering calculations and interpret data-driven results.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 1+ year of experience in a similar Industry
  • Candidates with experience in designing SPMs would be preferred.
