Position

Utility Incharge

Job Purpose

To ensure reliable, safe, energy-efficient and cost-effective operation & maintenance of CRM plant utility systems including cooling towers, compressors, boilers, neutralisation plant, oily ETP, green hydrogen plant and upcoming ARP systems while ensuring statutory and environmental compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Operation & Maintenance

  • Ensure uninterrupted operation of all utility and Neutralisation systems.
  • Plan and execute preventive, predictive and breakdown maintenance activities.
  • Improve equipment reliability, availability and efficiency.
  • Monitor utility consumption and optimize operating cost.

Utilities Covered

  • Cooling Towers
  • Air Compressors & Compressed Air Network
  • Boilers & Steam Distribution System
  • Neutralisation Plant
  • Oily ETP
  • Green Hydrogen Plant
  • Upcoming ARP System
  • Utility piping & distribution systems

Energy Management

  • Conduct energy audits and implement energy-saving projects.
  • Monitor specific energy consumption and benchmark utility performance.
  • Identify opportunities for power, water, steam and compressed air optimization.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory, environmental and safety regulations.
  • Coordinate inspections and audits related to boilers, pollution control and utility systems.
  • Maintain all statutory records and documentation.

Projects & Improvements

  • Execute utility-related capex and improvement projects.
  • Coordinate with OEMs, consultants and contractors.
  • Support commissioning and stabilization of new utility systems.

Team Management

  • Lead utility operation and maintenance teams.
  • Develop SOPs, checklists and maintenance standards.
  • Train manpower on safety and operational best practices.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical
  • 15–18 years experience in utility operation & maintenance in steel/process industry.
  • Experience in boilers, compressors, cooling towers, water treatment and ETP systems.
  • Exposure to green hydrogen systems /ARP and energy management preferred.
  • Knowledge of statutory compliance related to boilers, pollution control and factory utilities.
  • Strong troubleshooting and team management skills.
