Hands-on Mechanical Engineer responsible for product design, prototyping, production supervision, and vendor coordination. The role requires practical experience in developing mechanical systems and taking products from concept to manufacturing. Startup experience and exposure to the full product lifecycle are preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop mechanical systems and components
- Create 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks
- Develop and test prototypes using rapid prototyping techniques (3D printing, basic embedded integration if required)
- Troubleshoot mechanical systems and coordinate with electrical/firmware teams when needed
- Supervise production processes and ensure adherence to quality standards
- Optimize designs for manufacturability (DFM) and cost efficiency
- Prepare and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) and technical documentation
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for parts and manufacturing
- Lead vendor negotiations (cost, quality, delivery timelines)
- Drive projects from concept to production and support continuous improvements
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
Strong hands-on experience in SolidWorks and mechanical design
Experience with prototyping and 3D printing
Experience in production supervision and quality control
Vendor management and negotiation skills
