Title: Mechanical Engineer (1-3 Years) - New Product Development
Company: Afterconcept
Location: Mayapuri Industrial Area, New Delhi (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-time
About Afterconcept
Afterconcept is a product development consultancy based in New Delhi. We design and engineer products for clients across the US, Europe, and Australia, covering industries from medical devices and industrial automation to consumer products. Our work spans concept development, detailed CAD engineering, technical documentation, and manufacturing coordination with partners in India and China.
About the Role
We're hiring a Mechanical Engineer to work independently on client projects across multiple industries. You'll be expected to take ownership of deliverables, from interpreting a brief through to production-ready outputs, with minimal oversight. Projects change frequently and span unfamiliar industries, so you'll need the engineering maturity to make sound design and manufacturing decisions without being guided through every step.

- Design for manufacturing across processes including injection moulding, sheet metal, CNC machining, and 3D printing
- Material research and selection appropriate to product requirements and manufacturing constraints
- Creating production-ready technical documentation: drawings, BOMs, tolerance specifications
- Coordinating with manufacturing partners on design feasibility, tooling, and production issues
- Supporting prototyping and NPD projects from concept through production release
- Reviewing test data and failure reports to identify design improvements
Requirements
- BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-3 years of professional experience in product design or development
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and/or Fusion 360, including surface modelling
- Demonstrated working knowledge of manufacturing processes: injection moulding, sheet metal, CNC, 3D printing
- Material selection experience applied to real production projects
- Ability to independently produce production-ready engineering drawings, BOMs, and tolerance specifications
Preferred
- Experience with tool design or mould flow analysis
- Familiarity with DFM/DFA principles applied to real production
- Prior experience in a consultancy or multi-project environment
- Rhino or Grasshopper experience
- SolidWorks CSWP/CSWE certification
What We Offer
- Health insurance for employees
- Direct exposure to international clients and a wide range of product categories
