What You Can Expect
The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, modeling, testing, and manufacturing transfer of mechanical components and assemblies. This role uses SolidWorks to create and maintain 3D models and drawings, develops and executes mechanical test protocols, and partners with Manufacturing Engineering and Supplier Quality to ensure successful design transfer and production readiness. The role emphasizes design accuracy, test rigor, and manufacturability, with strong application of GD&T and tolerance stack-up analysis.
How You'll Create Impact
Mechanical Design & CAD
- Create and maintain 3D models and detailed drawings using SolidWorks
- Generate drawing updates, revisions, and change documentation
- Apply GD&T per ASME Y14.5 to ensure functional fit, form, and manufacturability
- Perform tolerance stack-up analysis to validate design robustness
Mechanical Testing & Validation
- Develop, execute, and document mechanical test protocols
- Analyze test data and produce clear, accurate test reports
- Support verification and validation activities as required
- Troubleshoot test failures and recommend design or process improvements
Design Transfer & Manufacturing Support
- Support design transfer activities in collaboration with Manufacturing Engineers and Supplier Quality Engineers
- Ensure designs are manufacturable, inspectable, and scalable
- Support prototype builds, pilot runs, and early production issues
- Assist with drawing clarifications, deviations, and engineering changes
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Documentation
- Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain teams
- Support engineering change processes (ECO/ECN) and document updates
Ensure technical documentation is accurate, controlled, and up to date
What Makes You Stand Out
