Mechanical Design Lead

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the mechanical design team across automation projects, especially those involving SPMs for testing and assembly.
• Drive end-to-end design development, ensuring functionality, safety, and manufacturability.
• Design and integrate automation systems including roller belt conveyors, robotic systems, hydraulic/mechanical presses, and gantry solutions.
• Conduct design reviews and lead customer-facing Design Approval Processes (DAP) to secure first-time-right approvals.
• Ensure all machine designs adhere to ergonomic principles and applicable safety standards.
• Optimize design for cost savings and performance enhancement within project budgets.
• Evaluate and implement design solutions for processes like greasing, dispensing, and welding.
• Calculate machine cycle times and assess OEE for continuous improvement.
• Prepare and execute Micro Plans, design validations, FMEA, risk assessments, and root cause analyses.
• Support compliance with CE marking and selection of compliant components.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with project, controls, and manufacturing teams to ensure successful execution.
