Job Description
We are looking for a
Mechanical Design Intern to join our engineering team and support the design and development of mechanical components and systems for robotics applications. In this role, you will work closely with experienced engineers to take designs from concept to prototyping, applying real-world
Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and
Design for Assembly (DFA) principles.
This is a
6-month, in-office internship offering hands-on exposure to mechanical design, prototyping, and cross-functional collaboration within a fast-paced robotics environment.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a B.Tech / B.E. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong skills in CAD software (Fusion 360 preferred; SolidWorks acceptable)
- Ability to create and iterate 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings
- Good understanding of mechanical design fundamentals
- Exposure to Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) concepts
- Basic understanding of tolerance stack-up and fitment considerations
- Interest in rapid prototyping techniques such as 3D printing, laser cutting, or CNC
- Ability to collaborate with electronics and software teams for mechanical integration
- Hands-on attitude with a strong interest in building real-world hardware
- Willingness to learn, take feedback, and work in a team-based environment
