Looking a Techno Managerial Resource

Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Mechanical Design Engineering Managerto lead and mentor our mechanical design team in Bangalore. This is a hands-on leadership role that involves driving the design and development of core products and specialized equipment, ensuring high performance, manufacturability, and quality across all deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of Product Design and CAE Engineers, fostering collaboration, technical excellence, and career growth.
  • Guide CAE engineers in model setup, boundary conditions, and creative problem-solving for complex CFD/FEA challenges.
  • Prioritize and manage multiple mechanical design projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
  • Provide technical direction on product architecture, materials, and mechanical design to meet performance, cost, and manufacturability targets.
  • Act as a liaison between the India design team and headquarters, ensuring alignment on requirements, reviews, and integration processes.
  • Drive supplier and vendor relationships to ensure DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and oversee procurement processes for mechanical components.
  • Ensure best-in-class engineering practices, design reviews, and documentation standards across all mechanical design activities.

Required Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in mechanical or product design, including 23 years in a team lead or managerial role.
  • Proven ability to lead, mentor, and motivate design teams while communicating complex technical concepts effectively.
  • Deep expertise in DFM, tolerance stack analysis, and manufacturing processes for both metals and plastics.
  • Strong proficiency in CAD tools (SolidWorks preferred), engineering drawings, GD&T, and process capability analysis.
  • Experience with system-level design tradeoffs, ensuring balance between performance, cost, and manufacturability.
  • Familiarity with CFD and FEA tools (Ansys, FloEFD preferred) ability to guide analyses and interpret results.
  • Exceptional engineering fundamentals with a proven record of solving complex mechanical and system-level challenges.
  • Proactive, self-driven, and able to lead teams with minimal supervision while maintaining focus on strategic objectives.

Nice To Have

  • Experience designing optomechanical test fixtures.
  • Knowledge of statistical analysis tools (JMP, Minitab, etc.).
  • Experience managing relationships with contract manufacturers (CMs).
  • Background in high-volume production industries such as consumer electronics, robotics, or medical devices.
