About The Role
As a
Mechanical Design Engineer at Unmannd, you will be at the forefront of turning ideas into production-ready platforms . While avionics, propulsion, and autonomy define what happens inside, it is your designs that shape the product the user sees, trusts, and depends on in the field. From concept sketches to production-ready platforms, you will create designs that are rugged, lightweight, and battlefield-proven. Working closely with cross-disciplinary teams, you will turn innovation off the screen and into reality.

What We Offer- End-to-end mechanical design : concept CAD simulation BOM prototyping production release.
- Create high-quality 3D CAD models, assemblies, and detailed engineering drawings.
- Perform structural analysis to validate integrity and performance in mission-critical environments.
- Build high-performance mechanisms : balance ruggedness, weight, and manufacturability.
- Rapidly prototype, test, analyze, and iterate mission-critical subsystems.
- Collaborate tightly with avionics, propulsion, systems, and manufacturing teams.
- Drive design-for-manufacturing, maintainability, and serviceability.
- Support regulatory and defense standards compliance (CEMILAC, DGCA, MIL-STD, etc.).
- Maintain structured documentation, including BOMs, design logs, test reports, and revision control.
- Lead design reviews, mentor less experienced engineers, and help define our engineering DNA.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in mechanical design, preferably in aerospace, UAVs, or robotics.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Fusion360, etc).
- Strong understanding of structural mechanics, materials, DFM principles, and lightweight design.
- Experience with FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS or SolidWorks Simulation).
- Familiarity with aerospace compliance and certification standards (CEMILAC, DGCA, MIL, etc.).
- Hands-on experience with prototyping, testing, and working with composite materials is a plus.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a cross-disciplinary team.
