About:

We are seeking a talented and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our Building Services design team at the Global Excellence Centre (GEC) in India. This position is part of a multi-disciplinary department that provides detailed Building Services designs for projects in the UK and overseas. The role offers flexible working options and will be based in either our Bangalore or Gurgaon offices.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Mechanical Engineer you'll work closely with other experienced mechanical and electrical engineers along with colleagues in other disciplines from across the wider Building Services Division in the UK to deliver projects by:

• Supporting outline and detailed designs and specifications for mechanical works.
• Providing day to day technical input as part of a team of engineers and technicians.
• Ensuring design output is completed in accordance with the agreed scope of works, timescales and budgets.
• Working in close collaboration with colleagues from other disciplines as required to deliver project requirements and added value to the Client.
• Virtually attending and participating in internal team meetings.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree (B.Tech) or Master's degree (M.Tech) in Mechanical engineering discipline.
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Chartered Engineer or be working towards achieving chartered status with a relevant professional institution.

Required Competencies:

• 5 + years experience for Intermediate engineer
• Proved expertise in Building Services project
• UK/EU project experience
• Working knowledge of British Standards
• Working knowledge of CIBSE codes and guidance
• General ventilation system calculations and design
• Smoke ventilation system calculations and design and a working knowledge of BS EN 1366, BS 9999 and BS 9991
• Thermal fluid distribution system calculations and design
• Current UK sustainable design solutions and integration into the mechanical design solutions
• Technical layout capability and spatial coordination
• Technical schematics capability
• The ability to manage a variety of projects meeting varying deadlines.
• Strong problem-solving skills working alongside architects and contractors to consider problems and come up with innovative solutions.
• Ability to adapt your style to your audience.
• Up to date knowledge of the UK construction market.

• Residential, Commercial-Base Built, Commercial Fit-out, High rise >100m project experience
