About EarthEn Energy

EarthEn Energy is building next-generation thermal energy storage solutions to decarbonize industrial heat. Our thermal energy storage systems enable industries to store and deliver high-temperature heat reliably using renewable energy and waste heat.

We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer with strong thermal engineering and simulation experience to work on the design and development of thermal energy systems, heat-transfer equipment and industrial mechanical products.

What You'll Do
  • Take mechanical products and thermal systems from concept → 3D CAD → engineering calculations → detailed drawings → prototype → manufacturing → testing → design improvement.
  • Design and develop heat exchangers, thermal systems, pressure-containing components, ducting, manifolds, piping, frames, supports and industrial equipment.
  • Develop detailed 3D models and assemblies using SolidWorks.
  • Prepare manufacturing-ready GA, fabrication, part and assembly drawings.
  • Apply GD&T, tolerance stack-up, DFMA and manufacturability principles.
  • Perform heat-transfer, thermal, mechanical and structural calculations.
  • Work on FEA and CFD simulations, including thermal/structural/flow analysis.
  • Select suitable materials for mechanical and high-temperature applications.
  • Design components involving sheet metal, welding and fabrication.
  • Work with manufacturing teams, vendors and fabricators to take designs from CAD to physical products.
  • Support prototype development, testing, validation and design iterations.
  • Prepare and maintain BOMs, engineering documentation and revision-controlled drawings.

Non-Negotiable Technical Skills
  • Strong SolidWorks proficiency
  • 3D part and assembly modelling
  • Engineering & manufacturing drawings
  • GD&T and tolerance stack-up
  • Welding and fabrication design
  • Sheet-metal design
  • FEA and CFD / SIMULIA
  • Heat and mass transfer
  • Basic thermal, mechanical and structural calculations
  • DFMA
  • BOM preparation
  • Material selection

Basic Knowledge Required
  • Pressure vessel codes and standards
  • Piping standards
  • Flange selection and design

Good to Have
  • HVAC and process ducting design
  • Damper / valve selection
  • Heat exchanger design
  • Thermal energy storage systems
  • Industrial heat-recovery systems
  • High-temperature equipment
  • Experience working with fabrication/manufacturing vendors

Education
  • B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering
  • M.E./M.Tech in Thermal Engineering or a related field is an advantage.

What We're Looking For

We are looking for someone who is not only a CAD designer but can connect mechanical design, thermal engineering, simulation and real-world manufacturing.

You should be comfortable taking ownership from design and calculations through fabrication, testing and iteration.
