The opportunity As Mechanical Design Engineer specializing in Transformer design at the Global Engineering Center in Vadodara, India, you'll be part of a dynamic team that values innovation, diversity, and collaboration. How you'll make an impact

The success candidate will be the part of an International Design and Engineering Team specialized in design covering different countries.

Responsible to generate active part and windings/ Tank & Externals meeting factory limitation, guideline, and checklist as per IEEE / IEC /IS standards.

Responsible for Preparation of Customer documents, Manufacturing drawings, Bill of materials etc & submission to customer as per project schedule.

Understanding of Transformer mechanical design, Thermal, Dielectrics, Short circuit and sound performance and transformer mechanics

Coordinating design activities within a worldwide factories network.

Participation in internal design concept reviews.

Demonstrated team building skills and networking skills, would be a preference.

Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

B.E / B. Tech Mechanical Engineering.

3 to 12 years of experience working in Mechanical design for Power Transformers manufacturing Industry. Candidates with higher experience also to be considered.

Knowledge on CAD software, any 3D Modelling software is a must. Creo is considered as an advantage.

Should understand Transformer Design, Mechanical Calculations, Dielectrics, clearance/creepage, basic layout and cleats lead arrangement.

Should have good understanding of IS/ IEC /IEEE Standards/Canadian Standards

Experience in winding design / Tank & externals is an advantage

Experience on Microsoft office and tools.

Ability to speak with and work together with the technical teams in different parts of the world.

Demonstrated team building skills, would be a preference.

Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.

• Location Vadodara, Gujarat
• Prepare designs, customer drawings, manufacturing drawings, and BOMs.
• Ensure designs meet:
• Factory limitations
• Internal guidelines/checklists
• IEC/IEEE/IS standards
• Participate in internal design reviews.
• Coordinate with worldwide engineering teams and factories.
• Ensure compliance with safety, integrity, and internal processes.
• Deliver documentation on schedule as per project timelines.
• B.E/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3 - 12 years experience in transformer mechanical design (more also considered).
• Strong knowledge of:
• Transformer mechanics (windings, tank, active part)
• Thermal, dielectric, mechanical strength, shortcircuit behavior
• Clearance & creepage requirements
• Proficiency in CAD and 3D modelling tools (any; Creo is a plus).
• Good understanding of IS/IEC/IEEE/Canadian standards.
• Strong English communication for global collaboration.

• Experience in winding design or tank & externals design.
• Good teamwork, networking, and collaboration skills.
• Prior experience working with multi-country teams.
• Exposure to transformer performance factors: sound levels, mechanical rigidity, cooling systems.
