Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in mechanical product design, sheet metal design, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks. The role requires the ability to work independently, drive design activities from concept to qualification, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and modify mechanical designs, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks.
- Create and maintain 3D models, sheet metal components, and engineering documentation.
- Independently manage design tasks and deliver projects within defined timelines.
- Participate in concept development, feasibility studies, and design optimization activities.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with engineering standards and best practices.
- Apply GD&T principles for dimensioning, tolerance analysis, and manufacturability requirements.
- Support prototype development, testing, validation, and design qualification activities.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, and project teams to resolve design-related issues.
- Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, engineering change requests, and design reports.
- Ensure designs meet functional, performance, quality, safety, and cost requirements.
Required Technical Skills
- 5–7 years of experience in Mechanical Design Engineering.
- Strong hands-on expertise in SolidWorks (Part Modeling, Sheet Metal, Assemblies, and Drawings).
- Good understanding of engineering design fundamentals and industry best practices.
- Experience in concept design, design reviews, and product design qualification.
- Strong knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) and its practical application.
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes, tolerance stack-up analysis, and design for manufacturability (DFM).
- Ability to independently execute and drive design projects.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- Experience working in product development and manufacturing environments.
- Exposure to engineering change management and product lifecycle processes is an added advantage.
