Job Description

Location: Pune

Key Responsibilities:

The Role

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be at the heart of our engine development cycle. You'll be responsible for the conceptualization, detailed 3D modelling, and drafting of critical engine components ensuring every part meets our rigorous standards for performance, cost, and manufacturability.

Design & Modelling: Create complex 3D models and detailed drawings for engine components (cylinder blocks, heads, crank mechanisms) using SolidWorks, Creo, or CATIA.

Engineering Precision: Perform tolerance stack-up analysis and engineering calculations to ensure perfect interface compatibility.

Strategic Innovation: Research and propose new materials and manufacturing processes (casting, forging, machining) to boost engine durability and efficiency.

Value Engineering: Drive VA/VE initiatives to optimize designs for mass production and reduce manufacturing costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with CAE teams for FEA/CFD validation and work closely with Manufacturing and Sourcing to ensure Design for Manufacturability (DFM).

What We're Looking For:

Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, or Automobile Engineering.

Experience: 3–8 years in detailed mechanical design, preferably within the IC Engine, Automotive, or Heavy Machinery sectors.

Software Skills: High proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and 2D drafting.

Technical Mastery: Strong grasp of GD&T (ASME Y14.5M), engineering mechanics, and material science.

Problem Solvers: A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to interpret complex technical drawings and P&IDs
