Position Title: Mechanical Design Engineer

Role Overview
The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for the design, development, and validation of mechanical systems, equipment, and components. The role requires hands-on experience in industrial mechanical design, strong engineering fundamentals, and the ability to take ownership of design activities from concept to implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop conceptual, basic, and detailed mechanical designs for systems and equipment
- Create and review 2D drawings and 3D CAD models
- Perform design calculations, material selection, and tolerance analysis
- Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and safety requirements
- Coordinate with manufacturing, inspection, procurement, and quality teams
- Review and approve vendor drawings and technical submissions
- Support prototype development, testing, and design validation
- Resolve design-related issues during fabrication, assembly, and installation
- Maintain engineering documentation, BOMs, and revision control
- Participate in technical reviews with internal teams and customers

- Ability to work independently on design assignments
- Capability to own designs from concept to commissioning
- Strong troubleshooting and root-cause analysis skills
- High attention to engineering detail and documentation quality
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
- Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical design engineering
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and manufacturing processes
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks / AutoCAD / Creo / Inventor or equivalent)
- Experience with GD&T and engineering drawing standards
- Familiarity with ASME, ISO, ASTM, or equivalent standards
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience in industrial equipment, machinery, refinery, or process plant projects
- Exposure to FEA / structural or thermal analysis
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, or rotating equipment
- Experience in design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly (DFM/DFA)
- Ability to handle multiple projects independently
