Mechanical Design Engineer develops and tests mechanical products and systems. They oversee the product lifecycle from initial concept and 3D CAD modeling to prototyping, analysis, and final manufacturing. Their goal is to ensure designs are functional, safe, cost-effective, and user-friendly.Core ResponsibilitiesProduct Development: Manage end-to-end design lifecycles for mechanical equipment, components, or systems.3D Modeling & Drafting: Create detailed 3D models and manufacturing drawings using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA, AutoCAD).Engineering Analysis: Perform structural, thermal, and dynamic calculations, including Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and tolerance analysis.Prototyping & Testing: Build prototypes, conduct methodical experiments, and analyze performance data to refine designs.Manufacturing Support: Collaborate with production teams to optimize manufacturing processes and resolve assembly or non-conformance issues.Documentation: Prepare technical reports, user manuals, and detailed specifications ensuring compliance with global safety and quality standards.Key Qualifications & SkillsEducation: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.Technical Software: Proficiency in industry-standard CAD/CAE tools like SolidWorks, Creo, or ANSYS.Manufacturing Knowledge: Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles, material properties, and production processes.Problem-Solving: Strong spatial/computational abilities and root-cause analysis skills.
