About the Role
We are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer – BSc (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on mechanical systems, product design, and engineering problem-solving.
In this role, you will work with AI-generated outputs related to CAD modeling, machine design, manufacturing processes, material selection, and mechanical analysis, helping improve how AI models understand and solve real-world mechanical engineering challenges.
You will collaborate with global AI and engineering teams to assess the technical accuracy, feasibility, and design quality of AI-generated solutions. Your contributions will directly enhance AI systems used for engineering design, simulation, and industrial applications.
Responsibilities
- Create deliverables addressing common requests within your professional domain, including design calculations, CAD workflows, and engineering solutions
- Annotate and evaluate AI-generated responses related to mechanical design and engineering concepts
- Review peer-developed deliverables to enhance AI research quality and consistency
- Diagnose and solve real-world mechanical engineering and product design challenges to improve AI reasoning capabilities
- Assess AI outputs for technical accuracy, manufacturability, performance, and engineering feasibility
- Identify design flaws, incorrect assumptions, or inefficient implementations in AI-generated solutions and provide structured feedback
- Contribute domain expertise to improve AI models focused on mechanical systems and product engineering
Requirements
- MSc in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles, product development, material science, and manufacturing processes
- Experience with CAD and simulation tools such as SolidWorks, CATIA, ANSYS, Fusion 360, AutoCAD, or similar software
- Familiarity with finite element analysis (FEA), tolerancing, and mechanical system optimization
- Ability to critically evaluate engineering designs, simulations, and technical documentation
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
