Mechanical Design Engineer applies physics and engineering principles to design, develop, and test mechanical components, systems, or devices. They create 2D/3D models using CAD software (SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD), perform structural analysis (FEA), and create detailed manufacturing drawings to meet safety and functional standards.
BetterteamBetterteam +3Key ResponsibilitiesDesign & Development: Create innovative, cost-effective mechanical designs from concept to production, including 3D models and engineering drawings.Modeling & Simulation: Use CAD software (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CREO) to create, refine, and simulate designs.Testing & Validation: Develop prototypes and conduct testing to ensure products meet performance, safety, and quality standards.Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (Manufacturing, Sourcing, Quality) to optimize production and resolve design issues.Documentation: Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design changes, and assembly instructions.Analysis: Perform engineering calculations to validate design integrity. BetterteamBetterteam +9Required Skills and QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or a related field.Experience: Proven experience (often 25+ years) as a Design Engineer or similar role, with experience in product development lifecycles.Technical Skills: Proficient in 3D CAD modeling software (e.g., SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, Creo). Knowledge of simulation tools (FEA/CFD) is highly preferred.Manufacturing Knowledge: Understanding of manufacturing processes such as plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, or machining.Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and excellent communication for presenting to stakeholders.
