The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in sheet metal fabrication processes and proficiency in SolidWorks to create high-quality, manufacturable designs for our medical devices.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop sheet metal components and assemblies for medical devices using SolidWorks.
  • Create detailed 3D CAD models, drawings, and BOMs adhering to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, manufacturing, and quality) to ensure design feasibility and compliance with medical device standards.
  • Apply knowledge of sheet metal cutting, bending, forming, welding, and hardware selection in the design process.
  • Conduct design reviews, tolerance analysis, and DFMA (Design for Manufacturing & Assembly) studies.
  • Work closely with vendors to ensure manufacturability, cost-effectiveness, and quality of sheet metal parts.
  • Perform design modifications, prototyping, and testing to validate designs.
  • Maintain proper documentation as per ISO and medical device regulatory requirements.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
  • 2–5 years of experience in mechanical design (preferably in sheet metal parts and assemblies).
  • Strong proficiency in SolidWorks (Sheet Metal, Weldments, and Assembly modules).
  • Solid understanding of sheet metal fabrication processes – cutting, bending, laser cutting, punching, forming, and welding.
  • Experience in selecting and designing with mechanical fasteners, hinges, latches, and hardware.
  • Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance stack-up, and engineering standards.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Exposure to medical devices or regulated industries (preferred but not mandatory).

What We Offer

  • Opportunity to work on cutting-edge medical technologies.
  • Collaborative and innovative work culture.
  • Competitive salary and benefits.
  • Career growth opportunities in a rapidly expanding company.
