Job Description
As a Mech Design Engineering Manager here at Honeywell, you will lead the product stewardship team to ensure regulatory compliance and conduct thorough due diligence for our products. Your role will be pivotal in managing product compliance, environmental impact, and adherence to global and local regulations, safeguarding both the company and our customers.
You will report directly to our Global Senior Director Sustainability and Product Stewardship and you'll work out of our Madurai, India location on an on-site work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the company by driving compliance with regulatory requirements, minimizing risks associated with product stewardship, and supporting sustainable business practices that align with Honeywell's commitment to health, safety and environmental responsibility.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with all relevant local, national, and international regulatory requirements related to product stewardship and chemical safety.
- Conduct due diligence assessments for new and existing products to identify and mitigate potential regulatory and environmental risks.
- Develop and implement product stewardship programs and policies that promote safe handling, use, and disposal of products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, and supply chain to ensure regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.
- Monitor changes in regulations and standards, and communicate impacts and necessary actions to relevant stakeholders.
- Lead training and awareness initiatives on regulatory compliance and product stewardship best practices.
- Manage and develop a team, fostering a culture of accountability, growth, and high performance.
Qualifications
YOU MUST HAVE
- Demonstrated people management skills with experience leading and developing teams.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams to implement compliance programs effectively.
- Proven ability to design and implement compliance programs and risk assessment processes for products within industrial product sectors.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and associated compliance activities including applicability assessments and document management.
- 10+ years of experience in product engineering, stewardship, regulatory affairs, or compliance roles.
WE VALUE
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, chemistry, environmental science or related field.
- Strong knowledge of global regulations related to chemical safety, environmental programs, and product compliance, including EPR, REACH, and RoHS.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Exposure to IT tools and data analytics to enhance regulatory compliance and reporting.
