Job Description
Mechanical Design Engineering Manager serves as the leader for turbomachinery Aero and Mechanical design and analyses for the engines and power system portfolio of products including proposals, cost estimation, mechanical design and analysis, development, qualification, service introduction and field issue resolutions. The selected candidate is accountable for end-to-end delivery of turbomachinery projects and programs, assuring that they are executed, on schedule, on budget, and in compliance with requirements while creating and implementing a transformational burning platform strategy to dramatically reduce cycle time and cost. Responsibilities include providing functional oversight to programs, developing and implementing talent strategies, people development, culture, technical leadership coaching, employee engagement and driving diversity and inclusion.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for setting up goals for a turbo machinery design team, periodic review of the performance and continuous feedback, enabling strong individual development plan for employees, conducting career conversations, succession planning, employee engagement and driving diversity and inclusion.
- Responsible for aerodynamics design at system and component level internal to Honeywell (through coordination with peer managers within E&PS), with suppliers, and with customers including aircraft OEMs.
- Responsible for defining and executing aerodynamic design initiatives to achieve overall product objectives within budget and schedule constraints and in compliance with requirements.
- Responsible for maturing global strategic areas with focused action plan and periodic reviews with leadership, strong collaboration with external eco system.
- Leads the team to define scope and extent of turbomachinery Aeromechanical design and analyses and enables execution to achieve program objectives.
- Leads the team to define the specifications, ensure the manufacturability of the parts, collaborates with extended team to ensure supplier readiness and early engagements.
- Mentors and trains the team to achieve all objectives utilizing demonstrated experience in the design, and development of complex Turbomachinery systems and components.
- Approves technical content, technical commitments, deliverable, and associated cost and schedule for all activities (internal or external).
- Responsible for technical decision making, including, without limitation, coordinating technical requirements with relevant stakeholders, customers, and advising leadership and customers on all technical aspects and issues to achieve all technical requirements.
- Coordinates with peer managers and program PEs to ensure overall program success.
- Partnering with program management, develops and implements a Management Operating System to drive effective communication, interfacing, and execution of tasks & responsibilities across the cross-functional organization.
- Champion and leads transformational projects to reduce significant cycle time and cost.

- Travel within India and/ or internationally may be required
Qualifications
- Bachelor / master's degree in mechanical / aerospace engineering with 12+ years of relevant engineering experience in turbomachinery design and analyses of components and assemblies
- Experience in Ansys CFX/ Ansys Mechanical/ Star CMM+
- Shall have 3+ years of people and team management experience
- Candidate must be an Indian Citizen
