Job Description – Product Owner (Meter Data Management – MDM)

Location: Noida (Primary)/Kolkata

Experience: 7–12 Years

Reports To: Head of Product Management

Role Overview

GridCrest Technologies is seeking a highly experienced MDM Product Owner to lead the design, development, and scale-out of next-generation Meter Data Management platforms within Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) ecosystems.

This role is central to delivering high-volume, high-performance, and compliant data platforms supporting the meter-to-cash lifecycle, enabling utilities to drive operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and advanced analytics.

The ideal candidate combines deep utility-domain expertise, strong data platform understanding, and hands-on product ownership experience.

Key Responsibilities

As product owner you will be required to:

  • Interpret specifications and build project requirements
  • Clarify requirements as required
  • Stakeholder management
  • To be primary interface between commercial team (sales and technical presales) and engineering team.
  • To support sales with rapid development of Proof of Concepts of new products and applications and to support early stage trials of existing product and product customizations.
  • To support sales with generation of required technical material to at all stages of sales process, including generation of whitepapers where required.
  • To capture technical requirements from sales team and customers to ensure clean and effective handover to engineering from POC to product generation.
  • To be able to have hands on technical approach.
  • Creating product roadmap.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in a similar role sitting behind a technical presales team as interface to engineering team.
  • Minimum 4 years in a technical development role, software, hardware.
  • Experience of metering devices and technologies

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of electricity metering protocols such as DLMS
  • Experience of Internet of Things and Smart Cities
  • Experience and knowledge of design methodologies; waterfall, agile, scrum
  • Ability to interface with other companies and staff on a technical basis
  • Knowledge and experience of Python and C programming

Educational Qualifications

  • Required: Degree or equivalent in science or engineering.
  • Preferred: Higher degree or equivalent in science or engineering.
