We are seeking an experienced MDM Engineering Manager to lead the strategic development and operations of our Master Data Management (MDM) platforms. This is a technical, hands-on role that requires a strong background in both Data Engineering and MDM. You will manage a team of data engineers, architects, and quality experts to deliver high-performance, scalable, and governed MDM solutions that align with our enterprise data strategy. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with platforms like Informatica or Reltio and data engineering technologies such as SQL, Python, PySpark, and AWS.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Leadership & Team Management: Lead a team of data professionals, providing technical leadership and mentorship. You will ensure project delivery timelines are met and guide the team in implementing best practices.
- MDM Solution Implementation: Lead the implementation and optimization of MDM solutions using platforms like Informatica or Reltio. You will design solutions and deliver enhanced MDM processes and data integrations using Unix, Python, and SQL.
- Architecture & Governance: Define and drive enterprise-wide MDM architecture, including IDQ, data stewardship, and metadata workflows. You will establish data quality metrics, monitor compliance, and promote data governance, contributing to enterprise data modeling and approval workflows (DCRs).
- Cloud & Integrations: Manage cloud-based infrastructure using AWS and Databricks to ensure scalability and performance. You will be responsible for implementing end-to-end integrations, including API-based, Batch, and Flat file-based methods, and have strong experience with external data enrichments and match/merge rules.
- Collaboration & Innovation: Coordinate with business and IT stakeholders to align MDM capabilities with organizational goals. You will lead custom UI design for a better user experience and ensure data integrity, lineage, and traceability across all solutions.
Technical Skills
- Strong hands-on experience with Databricks and AWS cloud services.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL, and Unix for data processing and orchestration.
- Deep knowledge of MDM tools (Informatica, Reltio) and data quality frameworks (IDQ).
- Strong experience with data modeling, governance, and DCR lifecycle management.
- Proven leadership and project management in large-scale MDM implementations.
- Must have worked on at least three end-to-end MDM implementations.
- Very good understanding of reference data and its integration with MDM.
- Experience with Tableau or PowerBI for reporting MDM insights is a plus.
- Exposure to Agile practices and tools (JIRA, Confluence) is a plus.
- Any MDM certification, Data Analysis certification (SQL, Python, PySpark, Databricks), or cloud certification (AWS or Azure) is preferred.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree, Bachelor's degree, or a Diploma in Business, Engineering, IT, or a related field.
- Prior experience in the Pharma/Life Sciences industry is a plus.
