Primary Responsibilities
Hands-on, business-oriented Lead Data Engineer to lead the technology efforts focused on supporting data-driven distribution processes.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and efficient cloud-based data pipelines and integration workflows using Azure Data Factory (ADF), DBT, Snowflake, FiveTran, and related tools.
- Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to understand data needs and translate them into effective technical solutions, including developing relational and dimensional data models.
- Implement and optimise end-to-end ETL/ELT processes to support enterprise data needs.
- Design and implement pipeline controls, conduct data quality assessments and enforce data governance best practices to ensure accuracy and integrity.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues across data pipelines to ensure stability, reliability, and performance.
- Partner with cross-functional teams to support analytics, reporting, and operational data needs.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to improve our data architecture continuously.
- Support master data management (MDM) initiatives and contribute to overall data strategy and architecture.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8+ years of professional experience in data engineering or a related field, ideally within financial services or asset/wealth management.
- Proven expertise in Azure-based data engineering tools, including ADF, DBT, Snowflake, and FiveTran.
- Programming skills in Python (or Scala/Java) for data transformation and automation.
- Solid understanding of modern data modelling (relational, dimensional, and star schema).
- Experience with MDM platforms and frameworks is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with additional ETL/ELT tools (e.g., Talend, Informatica, SSIS) is a plus.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with rapidly changing priorities.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical topics into business-friendly language.
- A degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
