Job Description

A leading provider in the Healthcare Hospital & Clinical Services sector, delivering perioperative, critical care and anesthesia services across tertiary and multi-specialty settings in India. We seek a clinically strong, patient-focused consultant to join an on-site anesthesia team supporting elective surgery, emergency procedures and ICU-level care.

Role: Consultant Anesthesiologist (MD Anesthesia) On-site, India

Role & Responsibilities

  • Provide safe, evidence-based anesthesia care for elective and emergency surgeries across adult and pediatric populations, from pre-op assessment to PACU handover.
  • Manage perioperative airway and hemodynamic challenges, including difficult airway interventions and rapid sequence induction.
  • Perform regional and neuraxial anesthesia (spinal, epidural) and ultrasound-guided peripheral nerve blocks for multimodal analgesia.
  • Lead intraoperative ventilator and invasive monitoring management for complex surgical and critical-care patients.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams, ICU staff and pain management services to optimise patient flow, ERAS protocols and postoperative analgesia plans.
  • Contribute to clinical governance: maintain documentation, participate in morbidity/mortality reviews, and support quality improvement and training of junior doctors and nurses.

  • Point-of-care ultrasound

Preferred

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
  • Experience with ERAS and perioperative multimodal analgesia
  • Fellowship or additional training in critical care or pain management

Qualifications

  • MD (Anesthesiology) or equivalent postgraduate qualification in anesthesia
  • Current registration with the appropriate Indian medical council or state medical body
  • Prior clinical experience in a tertiary hospital or high-volume surgical centre preferred
