Resident Medical Officer (RMO) - Gynecology
About The Opportunity
Opportunity in the Healthcare — Secondary Care / Obstetrics & Gynecology sector serving patients in Sirsa, Haryana. This on-site clinical role provides comprehensive obstetric and gynecologic care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal settings at a busy community hospital, supporting emergency services and routine maternity care.
The facility seeks an MBBS-qualified RMO with hands-on delivery room experience to join a multidisciplinary team and ensure high standards of maternal and neonatal care.
Role & Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day inpatient and outpatient obstetric and gynecologic care including antenatal clinics, labour ward monitoring and postnatal follow-up.
- Manage labour and deliveries—conduct normal vaginal deliveries and perform assisted deliveries; provide immediate neonatal resuscitation when required.
- Assist in and prepare patients for cesarean sections; support perioperative care and follow-up for postoperative obstetric patients.
- Respond to obstetric emergencies (e.g., postpartum hemorrhage, eclampsia, obstructed labor) and stabilize patients for transfer or definitive treatment.
- Maintain accurate medical records, handovers, and partographs; ensure adherence to hospital protocols, infection control, and documentation standards.
- Collaborate with senior consultants, nursing staff, and referral centres; communicate clearly with patients and families about care plans and discharge instructions.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS degree and valid registration with the State Medical Council
- Minimum 2 years clinical experience with exposure to obstetrics and gynecology or prior RMO duties
- Hands-on experience managing deliveries and common obstetric emergencies
- Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) or equivalent
- Proficient in labour monitoring, partograph use and emergency stabilization protocols
Preferred
- Postgraduate qualification or diploma in OBG (DGO/MD OBG) or equivalent clinical upskilling
- Experience assisting in cesarean sections and basic obstetric ultrasound
- Prior service in a district or community hospital setting
