About The Opportunity
Healthcare Hospital & Clinical Services in Women's Health (Obstetrics & Gynaecology). We are hiring an on-site MBBS duty doctor to join a busy gynaecology department in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, providing frontline clinical care across antenatal, intrapartum and postnatal services.
Job Title: Duty Medical Officer (Obstetrics & Gynaecology) On-site (Ghaziabad, UP, India)
Role & Responsibilities
- Triage and assess incoming gynaecology and obstetric cases promptly; initiate appropriate investigations and escalate high-risk cases.
- Manage labour ward duties including monitoring labour (partograph), conducting normal vaginal deliveries and providing immediate newborn care.
- Stabilise and manage obstetric emergencies (e.g., PPH, eclampsia, obstructed labour) and coordinate timely referrals for surgical intervention.
- Perform routine gynaecological proceduresspeculum and pelvic examinations, stitch removal, wound care, and emergency contraception/IUCD counselling where indicated.
- Document clinical notes, maintain patient records, complete duty handovers and communicatecare plans with consultants and nursing staff.
- Adhere to hospital infection-control protocols, drug safety guidelines and participate in on-call rosters and departmental audits.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- MBBS degree with valid state medical registration
- Experience in labour ward duty or emergency gynae/obstetric care (on-site roles preferred)
- Clinical competency in normal vaginal delivery and labour monitoring
- Ability to manage common obstetric emergencies and postpartum haemorrhage
- Proficiency in speculum and pelvic examination procedures
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or equivalent
Preferred
- Training or exposure to neonatal resuscitation or emergency newborn care
- Previous on-call experience in a high-volume obstetrics/gynaecology unit
