Company Description Vidya & Child is a non-profit organization focused on value-integrated, holistic education for children from marginalized communities in India. Since 1998, the organization has supported children through their full education life cycle, working closely with families to help each child discover and develop their unique potential. Vidya & Child currently works with 1,800+ children across six communities, including five in Noida/Greater Noida (Delhi NCR) and one in Siwan (Bihar), through schools and after-school support programs. The organization maintains a balanced girl-to-boy ratio, a very low dropout rate, and has enabled learners to pursue diverse professional careers. With a dedicated team and volunteers, Vidya & Child continues to innovate and respond to community needs, including academic and creative support during challenging periods such as the COVID-19 pandemic.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site role based in Noida, focused on Maths Competitive Preparations for school-age learners from marginalized communities. The role involves planning and delivering structured mathematics classes aimed at preparing students for competitive examinations and advanced academic pathways. Responsibilities include designing and adapting curricula, creating detailed lesson plans, assessing student understanding, and providing targeted remediation where needed. The individual will collaborate with other educators to integrate value-based learning, maintain regular communication with parents and guardians, and document student progress. The role also includes conducting practice tests, mentoring students on exam strategies, and contributing to continuous improvement of maths teaching practices within the organization.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Mathematics and Mathematics Education.
- Candidates should possess skills in Curriculum Development and Lesson Planning.
- Candidates should possess effective Communication skills for working with children, families, and colleagues.
- Formal qualification in Mathematics, Education, or a related field (Bachelor's degree or above) is preferred.
- Experience preparing students for competitive exams or advanced maths assessments is an advantage.
- Ability to work full-time on-site in Noida and commit to the educational mission of Vidya & Child.
- Prior experience teaching first-generation learners or working in low-income communities is beneficial.
- Fluency in English and Hindi, along with basic computer literacy for academic planning and reporting, is preferred.
