About The Role

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for mathematicians who want meaningful, intellectually engaging work on their own schedule. No prior AI experience required — just deep mathematical expertise and a sharp eye for rigor.

What You'll Do
- Develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems with real-world relevance and genuine complexity
- Apply your expertise in algebra, calculus, statistics, discrete mathematics, or related fields to design rich, challenging problem sets
- Evaluate AI-generated mathematical reasoning for correctness, rigor, and clarity
- Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and domain experts to improve model performance
- Ensure mathematical depth, precision, and clarity across all deliverables
- Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule
Who You Are
- Master's or PhD in Mathematics or a closely related field
- Deep expertise in one or more of: algebra, calculus, statistics, or discrete mathematics
- Comfortable coding in Python, MATLAB, or Mathematica for research or applied problem-solving
- Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex ideas with precision and clarity
- Naturally detail-oriented with a rigorous, methodical approach to problem-solving
- Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand
Nice to Have
- Prior experience with data annotation, evaluation systems, or AI training workflows
- Background in applied mathematics, computational math, or mathematical modeling
- Experience reviewing or grading advanced mathematical work in an academic or professional context
- Familiarity with AI tools or language model outputs as an end user
