Material Science Expert (AI Training)

About The Role

What if your years of advanced study in material science could directly shape how AI reasons about semiconductors, molecular structures, and the physical world We're looking for Material Science experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help train and evaluate cutting-edge AI models, ensuring they think with the depth and rigor of a real domain specialist.

This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for researchers and scientists who want to put their expertise to work in a meaningful new way. No AI background needed — your deep knowledge of materials is exactly what we're looking for.

What You'll Do

  • Develop, solve, and critically review advanced material science problems with real-world relevance
  • Apply your expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or related disciplines to design complex, rigorous problem statements
  • Evaluate AI-generated scientific reasoning for accuracy, depth, and technical soundness
  • Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers and fellow domain experts to strengthen model performance
  • Ensure scientific clarity, rigor, and precision across all deliverables
  • Work independently on task-based assignments — fully on your own schedule

Who You Are

  • Master's or PhD in Material Science or a closely related field
  • Strong expertise in semiconductor materials, molecular modeling, or a related specialization
  • Comfortable coding in Python or MATLAB for research or applied projects
  • Exceptionally clear written communicator with sharp attention to detail
  • Self-motivated and consistent when working independently
  • Fluent in English and based in the U.S., Canada, U.K., Australia, or New Zealand

Nice to Have

  • Prior experience with data annotation, data quality evaluation, or AI training workflows
  • Background spanning multiple material science sub-disciplines
  • Experience reviewing or peer-evaluating scientific work
  • Familiarity with AI tools or technical evaluation platforms
