This Position reports to:
Manufacturing Unit Manager
Your role and responsibilities:
In this role, you will have the opportunity to be responsible for end-to-end planning of inventory, including Sales in Excess of invoicing from purchase requisition to customer invoice. Each day, you will support internal customer service inquiries. You will also showcase your expertise by setting inventory parameters and targets and ensuring adequate replenishment of inventory through purchase order
The work model for this role:
This role contributes to the Automation- Measurement & Analytical division at ABB in Bangalore- India region. Main stakeholders include procurement team, inventory managers, engineering & maintenance, quality assurance, finance, suppliers/OEMs, project management, and operations.
You will be mainly accountable for:
- Material procurement and inventory management for instrumentation devices (Flowmeters, Pressure Transmitters, Temperature Transmitters).
- Defining inventory policies based on specified segmentation.
- Calculating and maintaining parameters such as safety stock, reorder point, lot size, lead time, and replenishment strategies in planning systems and ERPs.
- Coordinating with production teams to align material planning with operational requirements.
- Ensuring MRP stability to maintain consistent planning and procurement cycles.
- Coordinating material planning with call-offs to ensure purchase requisitions are converted into purchase orders in collaboration with operations buyers and services.
- Collaborating with supply chain and buyers to achieve optimal supplier performance in terms of on-time delivery, Minimum Order Quantity, quality, lead time, and flexibility.
Qualifications for the role:
- Experience – 2–4 years of procurement and inventory management.
- Handled material procurement & Inventory management.
- Handled procurement for Instrumentation devices or something similar.
- Bachelor's degree in B.E/B.Tech (Mechanical, Electrical or Electronics).
- SAP knowledge for effective integration of procurement and inventory processes
- Fluent in English, Kannada, and Hindi
- Good communication skills – verbal and written.
