About the Project
The Aspirational Livelihood for Youth and Women project in Vidarbha, Maharashtra aims to strengthen livelihood opportunities for rural youth through training, entrepreneurship development, and ecosystem partnerships. The programme will operate through Livelihood Resource Centres (LRCs) across selected districts to provide training in life skills, employability, and entrepreneurship. The project focuses on enabling youth—particularly women—to start and strengthen micro-enterprises and access sustainable livelihood opportunities. To ensure quality entrepreneurship training and enterprise outcomes, the project will appoint a Master Trainer who will build trainer capacity and oversee training quality pan India on skilling for placement, Self-Employment & Entrepreneurship.
Role Overview
The Master Trainer will be responsible for strengthening the quality of skilling for employment and entrepreneurship training based on leadership and life skills across Livelihood Resource Centres. The role will focus on training and mentoring centre-level staff especially trainers, standardising training delivery, and ensuring that youth participants gain practical skills to start and manage enterprises. The Master Trainer will also monitor training outcomes, track participation and attendance, and support programme teams in ensuring that trained youth transition into self-employment or viable business activities.
Key Responsibilities
Trainer Capacity Building
- Train and mentor centre-level Trainers across Livelihood Resource Centres.
- Conduct Training of Trainers (ToT) programmes on skill for placement and entrepreneurship modules and enterprise development.
- Support trainers in using participatory and practical training methods.
- Develop training plans, training tools, and session guides.
Training Quality & Standardisation
- Ensure consistent and high-quality delivery of entrepreneurship training across centres.
- Conduct periodic training observations and coaching sessions for trainers.
- Provide technical support to trainers on business planning, market analysis, costing, and financial literacy modules.
- Continuously improve training content based on field learning and participant feedback.
Monitoring Training Outcomes
- Monitor training participation, attendance, and completion rates.
- Track the number of youths trained in entrepreneurship modules.
- Monitor the conversion of trained youth into self-employment or enterprise activities.
- Support the programme team in maintaining accurate data on training and enterprise outcomes.
Collaboration for training and content development
- Facilitate the collaboration with national training institutes like NIRDPR, NIESBD, and lead the certification of all centre trainers
- Co-develop the content and materials with national institutions, agencies and disseminate the same.
- Facilitate the ToTs in collaboration with NIRDPR and NIESBUD
Enterprise Development Support
- Provide technical guidance to trainers and youth on business idea development and enterprise planning.
- Support youth entrepreneurs in identifying local market opportunities and viable enterprise models.
- Facilitate linkages with financial institutions, entrepreneurship support programmes, and government schemes.
Data, Reporting & Programme Alignment
- Track and analyse programme data related to training outcomes and enterprise development.
- Ensure accurate documentation of training sessions, attendance, and enterprise progress.
- Provide regular reports and insights to programme leadership to improve programme effectiveness.
- Ensure that training outcomes align with project targets and livelihood goals.
Qualifications & Experience
- Graduate or Postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Entrepreneurship, Rural Development, Social Work, or related field.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in training on entrepreneurship development, enterprise promotion, or livelihood programmes.
- Proven experience in training trainers and capacity building of field teams.
- Experience working with rural youth, micro-entrepreneurs, or community enterprises.
- Experience monitoring training outcomes and programme performance.
Desired Competencies
- Strong facilitation and training design skills.
- Deep understanding of micro-enterprise development and rural market systems.
- Ability to mentor trainers and strengthen programme quality.
- Strong analytical and monitoring skills for programme data and outcomes.
- Willingness to travel across project locations.
- Fluency in Marathi and English preferred.
