The Opportunity
Are you ready to architect the data foundation that drives digital excellence and unlocks actionable insights for our global procurement operations As our Master Data Manager based in Pune/Mumbai, India, you will be a core member of the Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE). In this critical role, you will define, govern, and optimize the data assets that power the digital evolution of DOP.
Reporting Line: The position directly reports to the Procurement Operations Lead and is part of the wider Procurement Center of Excellence (CoE).
Wider team and stakeholders: Works closely with the colleagues in Analytics and Performance Insights, data consumers, and multifunctional teams globally to ensure data is fit for purpose.
Role Type: A senior individual contributor role focused on data architecture, governance, and master data management. May involve project-based direct or indirect supervision.
Impact: You assure quality and trust in our data, establishing the governance framework for the organization. Specifically, you are accountable for:
Data Strategy & Governance: Defining data assets within the DOP domain, creating standard guidelines, and establishing internal policies and data controls to monitor adherence.
Quality Assurance: Maintaining data quality using customer feedback, developing reporting metrics, evaluating issues, and coordinating regular corrections.
Continuous Improvement: Optimizing workflows and continuously driving the quality and availability of data in alignment with other business units and functions.
Alignment & Projects: Supporting organizational and system alignment, data standardization, and Master Data ERP projects.
Knowledge Management & Training: Developing and executing data trainings, capturing relevant documentation, and ensuring process-specific training content is accessible to DOP communities.
Who you are
We look for a self-directed professional with a sense of urgency who can drive data excellence in a complex, matrixed environment.
Education: A relevant Bachelor's degree is required a Master's degree is highly desirable.
Experience: 5+ years of experience leading a data architecture or engineering function (e.g., Master Data Management in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement within regional/global structures). You also bring 5+ years of hands-on data experience with a demonstrated increase in responsibilities over time.
Technical Expertise: Deep technical experience in data architecture principles and the design aspects of various Database Management Systems (DBMSs) and reporting concepts.
AI & Digitalization: You have a strong affinity to explore AI-driven solutions broadly, particularly regarding the digital transformation of operations (Digital 2.0 / Industry 4.0).
Industry Knowledge: A solid understanding of external factors influencing Master Data governance, such as competitors, regulatory requirements, and best-in-class practices.
Mindset & Soft Skills: Results-oriented and diligent, with the proven ability to operate effectively and independently in a global, cross-functional environment.
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, paired with a strong desire to collaborate across multifunctional teams.
Languages: Business-level fluency in English is required.
Travel: High flexibility and willingness to travel domestically and internationally (up to 30%) for various meetings at Roche and Supplier sites.
