POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Title: Marketplace Strategist & SEO Specialist

Department: Digital Commerce / E-commerce

Experience Required: 3+ Years

Employment Type: Full-Time

Reports To: Account Manager / Head of Digital Commerce

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking an experienced Marketplace Strategist & SEO Specialist to lead our digital growth across global marketplaces (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, Myntra,Ajio etc.) and our brand website.

This is a 360-degree role requiring a unique blend of:

  • Creative listing optimization
  • Aggressive marketplace advertising
  • Technical SEO expertise

You will be responsible for the entire lifecycle of our products — from initial market research and listing creation to scaling organic and paid traffic across multiple channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. MARKETPLACE MANAGEMENT (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho, etc.) - Primary Focus

360° Market Research & Strategy:

  • Conduct deep-dive competitor analysis to identify market gaps and opportunities
  • Perform comprehensive keyword research and niche trend mapping
  • Identify new product opportunities and develop competitive pricing strategies
  • Monitor marketplace trends and algorithm changes to stay ahead of competition

Listing Excellence & Optimization:

  • Create and optimize high-converting product listings including: 
  • SEO-optimized Titles
  • Persuasive Bullet Points
  • Compelling Product Descriptions
  • A+ Content / Enhanced Brand Content (EBC)
  • Backend Search Terms
  • Conduct A/B testing on listing elements to improve conversion rates
  • Manage product images, infographics, and visual assets for maximum impact

Performance Marketing & Advertising:

  • Manage and scale PPC campaigns across multiple ad types: 
  • Sponsored Products
  • Sponsored Brands
  • Sponsored Display
  • Video Ads
  • Maintain healthy ACOS (Advertising Cost of Sale) and maximize ROAS (Return on Ad Spend)
  • Develop bidding strategies and optimize campaign structures
  • Implement dayparting, negative keywords, and advanced targeting techniques

Catalog Health & Account Management:

  • Monitor and maintain account health metrics and compliance
  • Manage inventory forecasting and stock planning
  • Resolve listing suppressions, buy-box issues, and policy violations
  • Handle brand registry, trademark protection, and counterfeit claims
  • Optimize fulfillment methods (FBA/FBM) for profitability

2. SEARCH ENGINE OPTIMIZATION (Website SEO) - Secondary Focus

On-Page SEO:

  • Execute comprehensive site audits to identify optimization opportunities
  • Optimize meta titles, descriptions, and header tags (H1-H6)
  • Improve internal linking structures and site architecture
  • Enhance page load speed and user experience metrics
  • Implement structured data and schema markup

Off-Page SEO:

  • Develop and execute white-hat backlink strategies
  • Manage guest posting campaigns and digital PR initiatives
  • Build brand mentions and citation opportunities
  • Monitor and manage online reputation

Technical SEO:

  • Collaborate with developers to ensure: 
  • Site speed optimization
  • Mobile-friendliness and responsive design
  • Proper URL structure and canonicalization
  • XML sitemap and robots.txt optimization
  • Core Web Vitals compliance

Content Strategy:

  • Align marketplace keyword data with website content strategy
  • Develop SEO-friendly blog content to capture top-of-funnel traffic
  • Create landing pages optimized for high-intent keywords
  • Implement content gap analysis to identify opportunities

3. ANALYTICS & PERFORMANCE REPORTING

Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs): 
  • Organic Search Rankings
  • Conversion Rate (CR)
  • Click-Through Rate (CTR)
  • Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)
  • Total Sales & Revenue
  • ACOS and ROAS
  • Traffic Sources and User Behavior

  • Leverage SEO tools:

Reporting:

  • Create weekly/monthly performance dashboards
  • Provide actionable insights and growth recommendations
  • Conduct competitor benchmarking and market analysis

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

  • Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience managing e-commerce marketplaces
  • Proven track record of scaling marketplace sales and improving organic rankings
  • Demonstrated success managing advertising budgets of ₹X+ lakhs/month

Platform Expertise:

  • Must Have: 
  • Amazon Seller Central (mandatory)
  • Flipkart Seller Hub
  • Meesho Supplier Panel
  • Good to Have: 
  • Walmart Marketplace
  • Myntra, Ajio, or other fashion marketplaces
  • International marketplace experience (Amazon US/UK/EU)

SEO Mastery:

  • Deep understanding of Google's ranking factors and algorithm updates
  • Hands-on experience with SEO tools (SEMrush, Ahrefs, Moz, etc.)
  • Knowledge of technical SEO, on-page, and off-page optimization
  • Experience with local SEO and Google My Business (plus)

Analytical Mindset:

  • Strong proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets for data analysis
  • Ability to translate complex data into actionable growth strategies
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Google Data Studio)

Copywriting & Content:

  • Exceptional ability to write persuasive, SEO-friendly copy
  • Understanding of consumer psychology and persuasion techniques
  • Experience creating content that appeals to both algorithms and humans

Adaptability:

  • Ability to pivot strategies as marketplace algorithms evolve
  • Quick learner who stays updated with industry trends
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
