Job Description
The Rongjeng Welfare Foundation is a non-profit working on rural development and community welfare across Meghalaya and Assam. We organise Shyntor Festival, a three-day music and culture festival held in Shyntorbulia village, Ri Bhoi, on 10–12 December 2026, with over 7,000 visitors expected.
For this year's edition we are publishing a printed tourist souvenir — a foldable, full-colour map of the Guwahati–Shillong circuit covering 40 tourist spots from Kaziranga to Dawki, with a matching web edition on guwahati.com and shillong.com. 10,000 copies will be distributed at the festival and across the corridor through the year.
We need four interns — two in Shillong, two in Guwahati — to sell advertising space in it and to research sponsorship leads.
What you will do- Build a list of around 150 prospective advertisers in your city: hotels, resorts, restaurants, tour operators, retail, hospitals, education and corporates
- Contact them by phone, email and in person, and present the souvenir
- Close advertising bookings at published rates, collect artwork and payment
- For larger sponsorship opportunities, research the right decision-maker in each company and set up a meeting for our senior team — you will sit in on those meetings
- Keep the prospect tracker updated daily
- Join a 15-minute team stand-up each morning
- Based in [Shillong / Guwahati] and able to travel around the city for client visits
- Comfortable walking into a hotel reception or a shop and starting a conversation
- Fluent in [Khasi and English / Assamese and English]; Hindi useful
- Able to write a clear follow-up email
- Comfortable with Google Sheets
- A graduate or final-year student in any discipline — marks are not a criterion
- Previous sales experience is welcome but not required; we will train you
