Job Description

Primary Purpose and Overall Objective of the Job:

The Marketing Manager – Food Safety will be responsible for driving strategic marketing initiatives, business growth, customer engagement, and market development across India and neighbouring markets. The role will focus on strengthening market presence, accelerating adoption of Rapid food safety solutions, and supporting commercial excellence through targeted marketing programs and strategic partnerships.

The incumbent will work closely with Sales, Application, Global/ASPAC Marketing, Biz Dev, and Key Account team to execute growth strategies aligned with organizational objectives

Main Accountabilities:

•Strategic Marketing & Business Development

•Develop and execute the Food Safety marketing and communication strategy aligned with business objectives and global priorities.

•Drive market expansion initiatives across key food industry segments including beverages, seafood, processed food, CTLs & Govt labs.

•Drive key projects: Brand awareness campaign, Placement scheme & Advocacy development.

•Identify emerging market trends, competitive landscape, and growth opportunities.

•Support new product launches, product life cycle management, and portfolio expansion.

Customer Engagement & Market Development

• Build strong engagement with key customers (Global and Local key accounts), industry stakeholders, and regulatory bodies like FSSAI, EIA, SPICES board & MoPFI.

• Develop differentiated customer value propositions and targeted marketing campaigns both digital and offline.

• Organize seminars, webinars, workshops, conferences, and customer awareness programs.

• Drive digital marketing initiatives including LinkedIn campaigns, CRM campaigns, email marketing, and content marketing.

Key Account & Strategic Projects

• Collaborate with Sales/KAM teams to support Strategic Global Key Accounts (SGKA) and Large Key Accounts (LKA).

• Develop account-specific marketing plans and growth strategies.

• Support greenfield and brownfield opportunities through customized solutions.

• Work closely with global teams to replicate successful strategic initiatives in the region.

Product & Portfolio Management

• Support positioning and commercialization of rapid food testing and lab automation solutions aligned with market requirements.

• Develop product messaging, collateral, technical content, and sales enablement tools.

• Ensure alignment of marketing initiatives with customer priorities and market dynamics.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Partner with Sales, Application, Service, and Supply Chain teams for seamless execution.

• Collaborate with global and ASPAC marketing teams on local adaptation of campaigns and initiatives.

• Drive forecasting and demand planning activities in collaboration with supply chain team.

Regulatory & Industry Engagement

• Engage with regulatory authorities, Food associations, and key opinion leaders like FSSAI, EIC, Spices board & MoFPI.

• Support validation initiatives (FSSAI-RAFT), food safety projects, and regulatory advocacy programs.

• Strengthen bioMérieux positioning within the food safety ecosystem.

Team Development & Capability Building

• Identify training needs and capability gaps within the commercial organization.

• Drive competency development initiatives for internal teams.

• Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, accountability, and customer-centricity.

Profitability & Margin Optimization

• Improvement in product mix and gross margin performance

• Achievement of profitability targets aligned with business objectives

• Pricing discipline and commercial optimization initiatives

• Periodic margin analysis and profitability tracking through business reports and CRM analytics

Education & Experience:

Preferred Education: Master's degree in microbiology, Biotechnology, Food Technology, Life Sciences, or related discipline. MBA in Marketing preferred.

Minimum: Desirable: -12–15 years of experience in marketing, product management, or business development within Food Safety & Pharma or related sectors.
