Job Description
SINCLAIRS HOTELS & RESORTS
Marketing Hero
Marketing Manager — North Bengal & Sikkim
Siliguri • On-site, travel-heavy • Full-Time • 3–6 Years Experience
Why HeroBecause Marketing Manager does not describe the job. The job is to be the one person who owns how six of India's most beautiful hotels are seen, found and chosen — from the tea gardens of the Dooars to the ridge at Darjeeling to the streets of Gangtok — and to do it mostly on your own, on the ground, with a phone, a camera, a plan and a head office behind you. If you have ever wanted marketing to feel like something you did rather than something you attended meetings about, this is that job.
About SinclairsSinclairs Hotels & Resorts is one of eastern India's most established hospitality names, operating nine properties across the country's hills, plains and coastline. The group is a listed company with a completely debt-free balance sheet and a substantial cash surplus, now in an active expansion phase alongside a deliberate transformation of how it runs — including building a real marketing function for the first time.
Six of those nine properties sit in one extraordinary cluster: Siliguri, Darjeeling, Kalimpong, the Dooars at Chalsa, Gangtok and Yangang. It is the group's heartland, its biggest source of revenue, and the region where the next Sinclairs will be built. It deserves someone whose whole job is to market it.
About the RoleYou will be the marketing owner for the North Bengal and Sikkim cluster, based in Siliguri — the gateway city every guest to the hills passes through. You report to the group's Deputy General Manager, Marketing, who sets the brand and the strategy. You make it happen where the guests are: in the properties, in the destinations, with local partners, and in the content that gets people to book.
This is a doing role. You will shoot and commission content, run local campaigns, build partnerships with tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners and corporates in Siliguri and the hills, keep six properties listings and social presence sharp, and feed head office the ground truth about what is selling and why. You will be in a different property most weeks.
We are hiring for energy, taste and initiative over years of experience. If you have three to six years in marketing, know the region or want to, and can show us things you have made and results you have driven, we want to talk.
Where This Role GoesThis is the first regional marketing seat in the group, and the cluster it covers is where Sinclairs is growing. As the DGM builds the central team, the person who has proven the model in the hills is first in line to lead it.
• Year one: every property in the cluster has a content bank, a live social presence, accurate and compelling OTA and Google listings, and a local partner network that sends business. Direct enquiries from the region are tracked and growing.
• Years two and three: launch marketing for the new Chalsa property; a small regional team or agency bench under you; a path into a group role — Regional Marketing Lead or a senior seat in the central marketing team.
What You'll DoContent & Storytelling• Build and keep fresh a content bank for each property — photography, short video, guest stories, seasonal moments — shot by you, by the teams you train, and by the creators you bring in.
• Run the properties social channels with a real point of view; grow reach and engagement that turns into enquiries.
• Tell each destination's story — Darjeeling is not Kalimpong is not the Dooars — so guests choose the right one for them and come back for the others.
Local Demand & Partnerships• Build and work the partner network: tour operators, travel agents, wedding planners, corporates, schools and institutions in Siliguri, the hills and Sikkim.
• Plan and run local campaigns and activations around the region's seasons, festivals and events — Durga Puja, the winter and spring peaks, the monsoon offers.
• Support the property general managers and sales on weddings, MICE and group business with collateral, site visits and local promotion.
Listings, Reviews & Reputation• Own the OTA, Google and directory listings for the cluster: photos, descriptions, offers and rankings — always accurate, always the best version of the property.
• Run review management with the properties: respond well, learn from patterns, and drive scores up.
Campaigns & Measurement• Execute the group's campaigns locally and propose the ones only someone on the ground would think of.
• Track what works — enquiries, direct bookings, engagement, partner-sourced revenue — and report it straight.
• Work with head office on the CRM and guest data so every local lead is captured and followed up.
Ground Truth• Be head office's eyes in the region: what competitors are doing, what guests are asking for, which properties need help and which have a story we are not telling.
What We're Looking ForRequired• 3–6 years in marketing, ideally in hotels, travel, F&B, retail or another consumer-facing business.
• Things you have made and can show us — content, campaigns, pages, partnerships — and the results they drove.
• Hands-on with social platforms, basic content creation (phone photography and video at minimum), and the tools that run them.
• Comfortable with OTA and Google listing management, or quick to become so.
• Able to build relationships fast with partners, property teams and guests; fluent in English and Hindi, with Bengali or Nepali a real advantage.
• Based in Siliguri or willing to relocate, and glad to be on the road across the hills and the Dooars most weeks.
• Self-starting: you can be handed a property and a season and come back with a plan and a first result.
Strongly Valued• You know North Bengal and Sikkim — you have lived, worked or travelled there and understand what draws people to it.
• Experience with a hotel, resort, homestay chain or travel brand.
• Photography or video skills beyond the basics; an eye for what makes a place look the way it feels.
• Experience working with tour operators and travel agents.
• Comfort with modern productivity and AI tools to move faster and make more.
Who Thrives HereSomeone who would rather be at the property at sunrise getting the shot than in an office describing the brief. You have taste, you have hustle, and you take ownership without being asked. You like people — guests, partners, the front desk, the driver — and they like you back. You want to look at six hotels in a year and see your fingerprints on how every one of them is seen. And you would rather be a hero in the hills than a manager in a tower.
