Role Overview
The Marketing Head – Derma will be responsible for developing and leading the overall marketing strategy for the company's dermatology portfolio in India. The role will focus on driving brand growth, market share, customer engagement, and commercial performance across the derma segment.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in pharmaceutical or dermatology marketing, a deep understanding of the Indian derma market, and a proven track record of building successful brands and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the overall marketing strategy for the dermatology portfolio in India.
- Drive brand strategy, positioning, product lifecycle management, and market expansion initiatives.
- Conduct market research and analyze market trends, competitor activities, customer insights, and emerging opportunities in the dermatology segment.
- Identify new business and product opportunities to strengthen the company's derma portfolio.
- Develop annual brand plans, marketing calendars, promotional strategies, and business objectives.
- Manage the marketing budget and ensure effective resource allocation to maximize ROI.
- Work closely with Sales, Medical Affairs, Product Development, Regulatory, and other cross-functional teams to ensure seamless execution of marketing strategies.
- Lead the development of promotional and communication materials, including product presentations, brochures, visual aids, advertisements, digital content, and scientific communication.
- Plan and execute brand campaigns, CMEs, conferences, promotional events, and other customer engagement initiatives.
- Drive digital marketing initiatives across relevant platforms, including social media, SEO, SEM, email marketing, and other digital channels.
- Monitor brand performance, sales trends, market share, campaign effectiveness, and ROI, and take corrective actions where required.
- Develop and present regular marketing performance reports and strategic recommendations to senior management.
- Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Ensure all marketing activities are aligned with applicable pharmaceutical regulations, ethical standards, and company policies.
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Life Sciences, or a related field.
- MBA in Marketing or equivalent management qualification preferred.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical, dermatology, skincare, or healthcare marketing.
- Strong understanding of dermatology products, dermatologists, prescription-driven markets, and the Indian pharmaceutical landscape.
- Proven track record in brand building, product launches, portfolio management, and market growth.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data, customer insights, sales performance, and competitive intelligence.
- Excellent strategic thinking and business acumen.
- Strong leadership, people-management, and team-building capabilities.
- Experience in developing and executing digital and omnichannel marketing strategies.
- Proficiency in digital marketing platforms and tools, including SEO, SEM, social media, content marketing, and analytics.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, target-oriented pharmaceutical environment.
