Marketing and Operations Associate

We run two things: Kalmanas, a Vedic astrology platform built for people who take Jyotish seriously, and a marketing agency that serves clients across different industries. You will be our first hire, which means you will help us build how we work, not just execute tasks. This role covers content, marketing, sales, client communication, and executive support. If you want clearly defined job boundaries, this is not the right fit. If you want to grow fast and own real work from day one, read on.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Kalmanas Content and Marketing: Plan and publish content across Instagram, Reddit, LinkedIn, and YouTube. Write captions, scripts, and hooks that feel authentic to the Vedic astrology audience. Use AI tools to work efficiently without losing the brand voice.

• Agency Client Work Across Niches: Handle content, social media, and marketing for agency clients in different industries. Comfort with context-switching is essential.

• Sales and Business Development: Reach out to potential clients through LinkedIn, DMs, and referrals. Qualify leads, schedule calls, and help close new business. There is no separate sales team.

• Client Communication: Be the main point of contact for clients. Send updates, manage feedback, and make sure deliverables land on time.

• Community Building: Spend time inside Vedic astrology communities on Reddit, Instagram, and Telegram. Engage genuinely and help grow Kalmanas from within those spaces.

• Executive Assistance: Manage the founder's calendar, send reminders and follow-ups, and handle general admin.

• Building Internal Systems: We do not have content calendars, onboarding documents, or internal trackers yet. You will help build these from scratch.

• Creator and Influencer Outreach: Find and reach out to astrology and wellness creators for collaborations and link building.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Active on Reddit, Instagram, and LinkedIn as a creator or community member, not just a viewer

• Strong written and spoken English for client-facing communication

• Confident making cold outreach, pitching services, and handling pushback

• Organized and proactive, able to manage schedules and admin independently

• Comfortable adapting to different industries and client voices quickly

• Genuinely curious, someone who looks things up and enjoys learning without being asked

• Willing to figure out tools, topics, and industries you have never worked in before

• Proficient with Canva or similar tools for basic content design

• Willing to learn and use AI tools for content and productivity

• Has a portfolio or examples of social media work, writing, or campaigns managed

• Comfortable being the first hire, which means building things before any playbook exists

Good to have:

• Genuine interest in Vedic astrology, spirituality, or Indian philosophy

• Prior experience in sales or direct client communication

• Existing network with astrology or wellness creators

• Familiarity with scheduling tools like Buffer, Later, or Meta Business Suite
