Job Description
Marketing & Growth Intern
Swimlane Digital · Bengaluru (On-site) · Internship
Growth experiments, AI-assisted marketing, and the judgement to turn output into customer value. We are hiring the person who makes the market notice we exist, and can prove it with a number.
AT A GLANCE
• Location: Bengaluru (On-site)
• Experience: 0 to 1 years
• Type: Internship
• Duration: 3 to 6 months
• Stipend: ₹20,000 per month
This is a studio, so the work happens in the room. A strong intern here converts to a full-time offer.
ABOUT SWIMLANE DIGITAL
Swimlane Digital is an AI-native commercial studio. Brands send us briefs. We send back ads, product videos, social content and several versions of the same campaign. AI carries most of the production. Our people carry the strategy, the creative judgement and the final call on whether something is good.
We do not sell software and we do not take one-off projects. Clients pay us every month, which means we have to be worth it every month.
THE ROLE
We are looking for a Marketing and Growth Intern who turns marketing activity into customer value you can point at. You will own growth experiments end to end, use AI to move faster than a team this size should be able to, and add the creativity and strategy the tools cannot supply on their own.
This suits someone early in their career who has already run something real and measured it. You do not need years of experience. You need evidence that you can form a hypothesis, ship it, read the number honestly and decide what happens next.
WHAT YOU WILL ACTUALLY DO
1. Make the client's number move, not just the deliverable land. Work out which hooks, formats and variants actually earned their spend and which ones just filled a calendar. Turn that into a recommendation a strategist can act on next week, not a report nobody opens.
2. Run growth experiments end to end. Pick a channel. Form a hypothesis. Ship it in days, not quarters. Measure it honestly. Kill it or double down. LinkedIn, founder content, outbound, partnerships, SEO, communities, paid: you choose, and you defend the choice with a number.
3. Own the measurement layer. Decide which numbers matter on each platform, define them precisely, and keep them honest. Content runs across Meta, YouTube and Google, and each one reports something different.
4. Put our own work in front of the market. Turn our best campaigns into case studies, teardowns, showreels and founder content that make a buyer want to email us.
5. Use AI to improve productivity, then add what it cannot. The tools give you speed. You supply the creativity, the strategy and the judgement on top of them, so the output actually drives customer value instead of just arriving faster.
6. Build workflows, not one-off prompts. Research pipelines, creative variant engines, competitor trackers, report generators. If a task is repeatable, you should be automating it by week three.
7. Watch the market, and watch for drift. Track what is changing in AI creative tools and agencies. Notice when AI-produced work starts to look the same, and say so before a client does.
WHAT YOU NEED (MUST HAVE)
Growth and performance marketing
• The funnel end to end: acquisition, activation, retention, referral and revenue, with a view on where yours leaked.
• Performance metrics that mean something to you: CTR, CPM, CPA, CAC, ROAS and conversion rate, plus when each one lies.
• At least one channel run hands-on: Meta, Google, LinkedIn, SEO, email, community or founder content.
• Experiment design: a hypothesis, a success metric, a sample you trust and a stop condition.
• A/B testing basics, including the honesty to say when a sample is too small to call.
AI in your daily work
• Daily, demonstrable use of LLM tools for research, drafting, analysis and synthesis.
• Prompt engineering in practice: system prompts, few-shot examples, structured output, and rescuing a bad answer.
• The judgement to know what to keep from an AI output and what to throw away.
• Building a repeatable workflow rather than retyping a prompt each time.
• Some exposure to AI creative tools for image, video, voice or copy.
Analytics and measurement
• Spreadsheets you are genuinely quick in: pivots, lookups, cohort views, a simple model.
• Defining a metric precisely: the formula, the source, who records it and how often.
• Reading a funnel and explaining where it leaks, not just reporting that it does.
• Knowing when a number is not trustworthy, and saying so before someone acts on it.
Communication and ownership
• Clear written English. Short sentences, point first, no filler.
• Turning analysis into a recommendation someone can act on this week.
• Presenting to founders and defending a choice with a number rather than an opinion.
• Writing the brief when no brief exists, because for a while there will not be one.
GOOD TO HAVE
• Hands-on with AI creative tools: Midjourney, Runway, Kling, Veo, ElevenLabs, ComfyUI or Sora.
• A dashboarding tool: Looker Studio, Metabase, Power BI or Tableau.
• SQL, or Python for analysis.
• Marketing automation or CRM: HubSpot, Klaviyo or Customer.io.
• SEO tooling, content distribution or lifecycle email.
• Exposure to D2C, B2B or agency marketing, including college campaigns run properly.
• Design sense, or comfort in Figma or Canva.
• Something of your own in the world: a portfolio, a newsletter, a channel, a brand you grew.
YOUR FIRST 90 DAYS
• Weeks 1 to 2: Learn the engine. Pick the three numbers that actually matter and start tracking them.
• Weeks 3 to 6: Ship your first three growth experiments. At least one will fail. Tell us why, in one page.
• Weeks 7 to 12: One channel working repeatably. One client outcome story we can sell with. One workflow the team keeps using after you leave.
How you will know it worked: someone here should be unable to do their job the old way because your workflow replaced it, and a buyer should have contacted us because of something you published.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
• You have run something and measured it. Scale does not matter. Rigour does.
• You can go from a business problem to a working experiment without waiting to be told how.
• You use AI to go faster, then add the creativity and strategy the tools cannot.
• Genuinely curious about AI creative tools, agentic workflows and where marketing goes next.
• A clear communicator with founders and clients alike, comfortable explaining a trade-off.
• Able to hold several client projects at once in a fast-moving studio.
• Growth mindset: this role is a path to Growth Marketer or Marketing Lead.
WHO THIS ROLE IS NOT FOR
• If you are not built for a high-speed environment where priorities move week to week and the plan changes under you.
• If you need a brief before you can start. Most weeks you write the brief.
• If growth means posting three times a week and waiting to see what happens.
• If AI is a tool you mention rather than one you have genuinely built with.
• If you would rather be right in the deck than right in the market.
HOW WE HIRE
1. Apply: fill in the application form and attach your resume: https://forms.cloud.microsoft/r/bWc6upSvV3
2. Case study: shortlisted candidates receive a case study.
3. Live round: twenty minutes. Eight to present, ten of questions, two to close.
4. Offer.
WHAT YOU GET OUT OF IT
• Ownership from week one. This is not a support role. You will not be formatting someone else's deck.
• A portfolio of real, measurable work: experiments you designed, numbers you moved, and content that went out under a real brand to real buyers.
• Direct access to the founders. You present your own work and defend your own calls, from the first month.
• Fluency in the AI creative and growth stack that most marketers will only start learning next year.
• A real path forward: Growth Marketer or Marketing Lead, with a full-time offer for a strong intern.
If you have read this far and already have an idea for the first experiment you would run here, we want to hear from you.
