Timings: Flexible in working in two shifts (1st shift: 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM IST; 2nd shift 12:30 PM – 9:30 PM IST)

We are seeking a hands-on Data Engineer / Developer to design, build, and optimize Market Risk data platforms and pipelines. The role is primarily development-focused, with strong experience in SQL and Database / DWH concepts, Python, Azure, and Databricks, along with some production stability and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and implement scalable data pipelines and ETL/ELT workflows; good understanding of Data warehouse concepts, working in SSIS a plus
• Develop and optimize complex SQL queries, stored procedures, and data models
• Build Python-based data processing and automation solutions
• Develop and manage Databricks (PySpark) jobs and workflows
• Work within Azure ecosystem (ADF, Azure SQL, Data Lake, etc.) for data integration and orchestration
• Implement and maintain job scheduling and orchestration frameworks
• Collaborate with business and risk teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
• Manage code using GitHub/Git and follow CI/CD best practices
• Improve system performance, scalability, and reliability through continuous optimization
• Provide limited support for incident troubleshooting and root cause analysis

Required Skills:

• Strong expertise in SQL (mandatory)
• Hands-on experience with:
• Python
• Databricks / PySpark
• Azure (ADF, Azure SQL, Data Lake)
• Solid understanding of ETL/ELT and data warehousing concepts
• Experience with job schedulers (Autosys, Tidal, Control-M, etc.)
• Exposure to SSIS or similar ETL tools
• Familiarity with:
• GitHub / Git
• ServiceNow
• Jira / Confluence

Preferred:

• Experience in Market Risk (VaR, P&L, Risk data flows)
• Worked in Financial Services domain

Key Competencies:

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management
• Ability to work independently and collaborate across teams

Role:

• Development (SQL, Python, Databricks, Azure): 70 - 80%
• Support, enhancements, and stabilization: 20 - 30%

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field

Minimum 12+ years of experience in data engineering or development roles.
