Position Overview:

The Market Risk Business Analyst is a senior change and delivery partner to the Americas Market Risk and Risk Engineering teams. The role leads complex risk, regulatory, data, and technology initiatives from definition through implementation, converting business priorities and control requirements into scalable solutions.

Working across Risk, Technology, Quantitative, Finance, Operations, and data teams, the Senior BA provides domain leadership, challenges solution design, strengthens delivery governance, and mentor other analysts. The role supports Market Risk responsibilities but does not own independent risk decisions or desk limit approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead business analysis across complex Market Risk, Risk Engineering, and regulatory change programs.
• Partner with senior stakeholders to define scope, priorities, dependencies, and delivery outcomes.
• Own business, functional, data, control, and reporting requirements through the full delivery lifecycle.
• Translate risk policies and regulatory needs into scalable processes, operating models, and technology solutions.
• Provide domain expertise across VaR, Stressed VaR, FRTB, SA-CCR, stress testing, limits, and risk reporting.
• Lead impact assessments, gap analysis, data lineage reviews, and root-cause investigations for complex issues.
• Drive solution design, challenge assumptions, and align business outcomes with technology delivery.
• Oversee testing strategy, UAT, defect resolution, business sign-off, and implementation readiness.
• Identify opportunities to strengthen controls, improve data quality, automate processes, and reduce manual effort.
• Ensure delivery meets governance, audit, regulatory, and internal control standards.
• Mentor Business Analysts and promote consistent requirements, documentation, and delivery practices.
• Represent the BA function in steering committees and senior forums, reporting risks, decisions, and progress.

Required Qualifications:

• 7+ years of Business Analysis, Risk Change, Risk Technology, or Transformation experience in banking or financial services.
• Significant experience delivering complex Market Risk, risk data, platform, or regulatory initiatives.
• Strong knowledge of Fixed Income and Derivatives across rates, credit, FX, or equity products.
• Deep understanding of VaR, Stressed VaR, backtesting, stress testing, FRTB, risk limits, and risk reporting.
• Experience with enterprise trading or risk platforms such as Murex and end-to-end risk data flows.
• Advanced SQL and Excel skills for analysis, reconciliation, validation, and issue investigation.
• Proven leadership in requirements management, solution design, UAT, governance, and controlled implementation.
• Strong executive communication, stakeholder management, facilitation, and decision-making skills.
• Experience mentoring analysts and establishing effective business analysis standards.
• Ability to work effectively with Americas stakeholders, preferably through London-aligned hours.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to SA-CCR, P&L attribution, risk-factor coverage, data governance, or regulatory submissions.
• Experience with Python, test automation, AI, or advanced analytics in a controlled financial environment.
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and tools such as Jira or Azure DevOps.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline; CFA, FRM, or CQF is advantageous.
